The Class L championship game set up as a contrast. Quarterback Michael Collins led the New Canaan offense this year by flinging the ball all over the field. North Haven kept the ball on the ground, throwing the ball just 81 times this season, while rushing for over 4500 yards coming into the championship game. The Rams out-rushed North Haven, while the Indians managed more passing yards. Both teams showed their versatility in the first half, and took a page from the others’ play book. North Haven spread their offense out on occasion, while New Canaan found success running up the middle.
