GameTime - Final fall edition on YouTube!
The final fall edition of GameTime, a weekly half-hour look at sports throughout Connecticut hosted by WFSB-TV's Joe Zone and John Holt, premiered Dec. 19 and is now available on YouTube (below).
The focus is on the state high school football season, which ended Dec. 19 when Southington rallied to defeat Fairfield Prep 52-34 in the twice-postponed Class LL final.
We'll talk with two state champion coaches: Tom Brockett of Class S champ Ansonia and Joe Della Vecchia of Class M champ St. Joseph-Trumbull. We'll also talk to St. Joe's QB Jordan Vazzano about the Cadets' 54-16 title win over Broofield.
We'll also talk about the Ansonia-New Canaan 'who's No. 1?' debate with the Middletown Press' Jim Bransfield and the New London Day's Ned Griffen, who have votes in the state media poll. New Canaan routed Darien in the Class L final, avenging their only loss of the season.
The final Connecticut Lighting Center and Restoration Lighting Gallery Power Poll of the season -- compiled by GameTime staff and based on state media and coaches' polls:
1) Ansonia; 2) New Canaan; T3) Southington; T3) St. Joseph
5) Darien; 6) Fairfield Prep; T7) Glastonbury; T7) West Haven; T7) Middletown; 10) Newtown.
