Sophomore second baseman, Nick Morell, representing St. Paul Catholic (Bristol) baseball team, won CPTV Sports’ honor of UChoose Student-Athlete of the week for April 11, 2016 with 3,510 votes. 

The Sophomore hit a walk-off single to propel the Falcons to a 7-6 win over Terryville. Josh Kestenbaum of the Bristol Press reported that Morell was participating in just his third varsity game and delivered the winning hit on a 3-1 pitch. The final hit cemented a 3-run seventh inning comeback victory for the 4-0 Falcons.
“It felt great,” Morrell said. “It was a 3-1 pitch right down the middle [and I] just hammered it.”
