Gabby Martin (G) – Hand-Madison Girls Basketball
The junior picked up a triple-double in a 77-45 drubbing of Sacred Heart Academy, Wednesday. Martin collected 24 points, 10 steals, and 10 assists. She finished four rebounds shy of a quadruple-double for the 9-3 Tigers.
Molly Murphy (F) – South Windsor Girls Basketball
The Bobcats routed Manchester for the second time this season, 64-48 Tuesday. The senior’s outstanding stat-line proved to be a big reason as to why South Windsor moved to 9-1: 32 points and 21 rebounds! Molly and the Bobcats are now 4th in the GameTime on CPTV Sports POWER Poll.
Jared Simmons (C) – Newington Boys Basketball
Unbeaten Newington is 12-0 and a star member of the Indians has earned his second UChoose nomination of the winter! The Indians nabbed a 73- 71 overtime victory from Wethersfield, Friday. Simmons notched his 1000th-career point in the game, collecting 25 total points and 10 assists.
Ryan LaMay (G) – Shepaug Valley Regional Boys Basketball
The senior connected on eight three-point field goals in a monster 51-point performance against Housatonic, Friday. LaMay led the Spartans to an 88-70 stifling of the Mountaineers. Shepaug is out to a modest 6-4 start to the season.
Mikey Grace (G) – Fairfield Warde/Ludlowe Boys Ice Hockey
The leaders in the CIAC Div. II race improved to 6-1-1 with a 4-0 blanking of Staples/Weston/Shelton. The senior propelled the Mustangs to their fourth straight victory saving 22 shots, including a penalty shot in the shutout.
Tyler Hill (F) – New Canaan Boys Ice Hockey
New Canaan has played an arduous schedule this season, so it is very understandable that they are just 3-8. Want to know how good the Rams actually are? They dominated hot-shot DI studs Xavier-Middletown, Monday, 5-1. The junior scored four goals in the rout.
