Ron Grant – Hamden Baseball
The senior hurled a no-hitter and struck out eight in a 4-0 win over Guilford Thursday. At the plate, Grant was 2/4 with two runs. In two starts this season, Grant’s stat line is electric: 15 IP, 21 K, and a 0.00 ERA.
Justin Plantamura – Platt Tech (Milford) Baseball
The junior clocked a walk-off, three-run triple to secure a 3-2 victory over Stratford, Thursday. Justin most likely qualifies for the clutch-est kid ever award for this past week as on Wednesday, he nailed a walk-off double against Wolcott Tech. Platt Tech nabbed a 4-3 win from Wolcott Tech.
Abby Abramson (P) – Cheshire Softball
Abby’s been so dominant of late that she had to garner a UChoose nomination for a second consecutive week. She allowed just five hits in three games last week for the Rams. In her latest start against Sacred Heart Academy Friday, the junior tossed her first career no-hitter. She struck out 12 in the 4-0 win.
Nikki Zaccaro (A) – Lauralton Hall-Milford Girls Lacrosse
The junior managed to score eight goals, to go with four assists in a 17-4 clubbing of Amity Regional, Friday.
Kitty Shortt (A) – Morgan-Clinton Girls Lacrosse
The freshman matched her grade level by collected NINE goals in an 18-16 edging of 2013 Class S runner-up Haddam-Killingworth.
Jodie Holloway (OH) – East Hartford Boys Volleyball
The senior collected 18 kills, 13 digs, and two services aces in a four-set victory over Southington Friday. The Hornets are now 5-0 in 2016. In May, East Hartford will take on Simsbury in a televised game on CPTV Sports. See it Friday, May 13th at 7:30pm.
