Casey Rival (P) – Goodwin Tech (New Britain) Baseball
The senior lefty no-hit Vinal Tech (Middletown) in a 9-0 victory. Rival struck out 18 batters and knocked in two runs in a fantastic effort Thursday.
Sarah Lawton (P) – Holy Cross-Waterbury Softball
Not only did the junior hurl a perfect game Wednesday, but according to Sports on 69’s Kevin Roberts, Lawton struck out 20 of 21 Sacred Heart batters in an 11-0 drubbing of the Hearts. One of her 20 K’s was Sarah’s 500th career strikeout. She also collected two hits and scored three runs on offense for 12-2 Crusaders (defending Class S champs).
Paige Mickens-Uliase (P) – Maloney-Meriden Softball
The senior tossed her first no-no of the season Thursday in an 8-0 dismantling of Plainville. Uliase K’d 16 in a game where she would have been perfect had it not been for two Maloney errors. Paige also smacked a 2-run double in the win.
Will Perry (A) - Greenwich Boys Lacrosse
The senior collaborated on 11 of the Cardinals 13 goals Thursday vs. Norwalk. Greenwich dismantled the Bears 13-5 as Perry scored five and assisted on six goals.
Marianne Dalessio (M) – Somers Girls Lacrosse
She’s a freshman! The Spartans handed the Canton Warriors their first NCCC loss of the season thanks to a game-winning goal in the second overtime from Dalessio. Somers topped Canton 12-11 Friday.
Stephanie Speaker (M) - St. Paul Catholic Girls Lacrosse
Speaker, a senior, notched six goals in a landmark victory for the Falcons, 12-9 over Amistad Academy Wednesday.
