Congrats to UChoose Student-Athlete of the Week

Spencer Brown, a senior runner on Wilton High’s boys track team, has been voted our ninth UChoose Student-Athlete of the Week for the spring 2015 season!

Spencer swept the 800 and 1,600 meters with record times in the Class L meet last week. He won the 1,600 in the pouring rain, finishing in 4:13:29, and took the 800 in 1:50.88.

Spencer, who will attend Georgetown University, capped off a dominant senior year June 8 by winning the 800 and finishing second in the 1,600 at the State Open, which will be shown by CPTV Sports Sunday June 14 at 8:00pm.

In the fall, Spencer was second in the Class L cross country meet and third in the State Open. In the winter, he won the 1,600 in the Class L and State Open meets.

It is the second consecutive week a Wilton High athlete won the award. Last week, Warriors pitcher JT Morin was honored for leading Wilton to the FCIAC baseball tournament title.
