Oxford 3, Cheshire 1

John Thorne had 12 kills and 10 digs as Oxford High defeated Cheshire 3-1 in a boys volleyball match April 30. CPTV Sports was there and will show replays in upcoming days (check broadcast schedule).

Oxford, which won the decisive fourth game 30-28, improved to 8-1. Cheshire, which beat defending state Class M champ Oxford April 11, is 7-2. Read the game story from the Danbury News-Times’ Jason Sonski here.

Fitch 8, East Lyme 1

Fitch High remained unbeaten with an 8-1 softball victory over East Lyme in a matchup between the ECC’s top teams April 29 in Groton. CPTV Sports was there and will show replays in upcoming days. Fitch is 7-0; East Lyme is 6-2.

Southington 10, Bristol Central 9

Southington rallied for two runs in the top of the seventh and held on for a 10-9 victory at Bristol Central in a CCC baseball game April 28. CPTV Sports was there and will show the premiere replay Saturday May 2 at 7:00pm.

Garrett Gugliotti’s two-run infield single won it for Southington (5-2), which scored seven runs in the second. Bristol Central (4-4) scored twice in the seventh after scoring five in the second. Gugliotti was 3-for-5 with two doubles; Drew Farkas picked up the win in relief for Southington.

Amity 9, Xavier 4


Seth DiMauro homered and Nick Fusco earned a complete-game victory as Amity High defeated Xavier-Middletown in baseball April 23 in Woodbridge. CPTV Sports was there and will show replays in upcoming days (check broadcast schedule).

Amity improved to 4-4. Pat Downey had two hits and two RBI for Xavier (4-3), ranked seventh in the GameTimeCT.com state media poll.

Glastonbury 10, Haddam-Killingworth 5

Glastonbury High’s girls lacrosse team improved to 5-0 with a 10-5 home victory over Haddam-Killingworth April 22. CPTV Sports will show replays in upcoming days (check broadcast schedule). H-K dropped to 2-2.

Hand 11, Foran 2

Annah Curcio had a three-run triple and Maddie Yaggi had three hits and scored twice to lead Hand-Madison to an 11-2 SCC Hammonasset Division softball victory over Foran April 21 in Milford. CPTV Sports will show replays in upcoming days (check broadcast schedule).

Hand improved to 4-3. Fallon Benvino hit two home runs for Foran, which was ranked seventh in the latest GameTimeCT.com state coaches/media softball poll.

Masuk 2, Lauralton Hall 1

Tatum Buckley pitched a no-hitter and struck out nine to lead Masuk to a 2-1 victory over Lauralton Hall in a South-West Conference softball game in Monroe April 17. CPTV Sports was there and will show replays in upcoming days (check broadcast schedule).

Stef Appelberg hit a two-run homer in the fifth for Masuk (5-1), ranked No. 1 in GameTimeCT.com’s state preseason coaches/media poll and the defending CIAC Class L champions. Lauralton Hall is 3-3.

CT East All-Stars 72, CT West All-Stars 71

Alyssa Velles of Norwich Free Academy made a three-pointer and two free throws, and Emma McCarthy of Lauralton Hall missed two free throws at the finish as the East All-Stars beat the West 72-71 in the JCC Schoolgirl Classic April 13 of Woodbridge. CPTV Sports was there for the all-star game featuring many of Connecticut’s top senior girls basketball players and will show the broadcast premiere Friday April 22 7:30pm

Cromwell’s Janelle Harrison led the East with 18 points; Career’s Tanaya Atkinson added 16 and was voted game MVP. Corrine Williams of Bloomfield led the West with 16 points. Read the game story by GameTimeCT.com’s Henry Chisholm here.

Hall 12, Cheshire 7

Hannah Cho scored five goals to lead Hall-West Hartford to a 12-7 girls lacrosse victory at Cheshire April 16. CPTV Sports was there and will show replays in upcoming days (check broadcast schedule). Connecticut 118, New Jersey 92

Ian Gardener of Kolbe Cathedral-Bridgeport scored a game-high 23 points and Raiquan Clark of Hillhouse had 18 points to lead the Connecticut All-Stars to a 118-92 victory over New Jersey in the JCC Schoolboy Basketball Classic April 13 in Woodbridge. CPTV Sports was there and will show replays in upcoming days (check broadcast schedule).
Crosby’s Tyshon Rogers, Bridgeport Central’s Tyler Ancrum and Bunnell’s Isaac Vann each had 16 points for the Connecticut team, comprised of many of the state’s top senior players.
