CIAC Class L Girls Lacrosse final:
Darien 14, Wilton 10

Darien recovered from an early three-goal deficit and went on to defeat Wilton 14-10 in the CIAC Class L girls lacrosse championship game June 13 at Bunnell High in Stratford. CPTV Sports will show the broadcast premiere Tuesday June 16 at 7:30 p.m.

It’s the first of three girls lacrosse title game broadcast premieres this week. The Class S final between Granby and Old Saybrook airs Wednesday June 17 at 7:30 p.m. and the New Canaan-Hand M final premieres Thursday June 18 at 7:30 p.m.

Anna Moorhead and Gabby Noto each had four goals for third-seeded Darien (17-3), which won its third consecutive state title. The Blue Wave scored five consecutive goals in the first half and four in the second half.

Rebecca Wistreich, Laine Parsons and Sara Dickinson each had two goals for Wilton (13-6).

SCC Girls Lacrosse Final: Hand-Madison 18, Guilford 6

Lauren Cole scored eight goals and Cameron Ruberti four to lead Hand-Madison to an 18-6 victory over Guilford May 28 at West Haven High. CPTVSports.org streamed the game LIVE and will show the broadcast premiere Sunday May 31 at 10:30pm.

Hand (17-1) took a 12-2 halftime lead en route to its ninth SCC title and first since the Tigers won four in a row from 2007-10.

After Guilford’s Edy Moritz scored the first goal 1:40 into the game, Hand scored the next eight, starting with Cole’s first 56 seconds after Moritz’s goal.

Hand closed the half with a 4-0 run against Guilford, which lost to the Tigers 11-9 in the regular season.

ECC Girls Lacrosse Final: East Lyme 15, Waterford 9

Vanessa Vurno scored five goals as East Lyme High pulled away in the second half to beat Waterford 15-9 in the ECC girls lacrosse tournament championship game May 29. CPTV Sports streamed the game LIVE; we’ll show the broadcast premiere June 1 at 8:30 p.m.

East Lyme (14-4) won its ninth consecutive league title. The Vikings led 7-5 at halftime.

Sophomore Stephanie deLaforcade had three goals and an assist and Riley Aspinwall scored twice for East Lyme. Alex Rose had eight saves.

HS Girls Lacrosse: Old Saybrook 10, Old Lyme 7

Molly Bell scored five goals as host Old Saybrook High defeated Old Lyme 10-7 in a Shoreline Conference girls lacrosse game May 4. CPTV Sports was there and will show the broadcast premiere Friday May 8 at 7:30pm.

Old Saybrook (9-1) rallied from a 5-4 halftime deficit to hand Old Lyme (7-1) its first loss of the season.

Gabby Rose had four goals and Riley Roarick seven saves for Old Saybrook. Sydney Cowell had three goals for Old Lyme.

HS Girls Lacrosse: New Canaan 12, Glastonbury 11

Isabel Taben scored three goals and Elizabeth Miller had two goals and three assists to lead host New Canaan High to a 12-11 girls lacrosse victory over previously unbeaten Glastonbury April 27. CPTV Sports was there and will show the broadcast premiere Thursday April 30 at 7:30, after the new edition of GameTime.

Maddie Norman had six goals and Taylor Walker four for Glastonbury (4-1). The contest was even throughout and tied at 6 at halftime.

Catherine Granito and Kylie Murphy also had two goals each for New Canaan (6-1). Bailey Pilder had eight saves for the Rams.

HS Girls Basketball: Morgan 45, Cromwell 42

Sami Ashton scored 20 points and Tori Hopkins had 13 (including three three-pointers) to lead unbeaten Morgan School to a 45-42 win over Cromwell in a game between Shoreline Conference leaders Feb. 16 in Clinton. CPTV Sports was there and will show the broadcast premiere Thursday Feb. 19 at 7:30pm.

Morgan (19-0), ranked seventh in the latest GameTimeCT.com state media/coaches poll, defeated Cromwell (17-3) for the second time this season, but it wasn’t easy. The Huskies, who took the Shoreline regular-season title, took an eight-point lead in the second quarter before the Panthers rallied to tie it at 24 at halftime.

The game was close until the final seconds, when Morgan’s Kelsey Donaldson drew a charging call with Morgan leading 43-42. Hopkins made two free throws with 18.3 seconds left and Morgan’s defense didn’t allow Cromwell a clean look at a three on the Panthers’ final possession.

Glastonbury 10, Haddam-Killingworth 5

Glastonbury High’s girls lacrosse team improved to 5-0 with a 10-5 home victory over Haddam-Killingworth April 22. CPTV Sports will show replays in upcoming days (check broadcast schedule). H-K dropped to 2-2.

Hall 12, Cheshire 7

Hannah Cho scored five goals to lead Hall-West Hartford to a 12-7 girls lacrosse victory at Cheshire April 16. CPTV Sports was there and will show replays in upcoming days (check broadcast schedule).
