HS Boys Basketball: Hillhouse 68, Bridgeport Central 51

John Lewis had 17 points and Hillhouse-New Haven pulled away in the second half for a 68-51 boys basketball win over Bridgeport Central in the final game of the first Martin Luther King Classic at Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport Jan. 19. CPTV Sports was there and will show the broadcast premiere Wednesday Jan. 21 at 7:00pm.

Hillhouse (7-1), ranked ninth in the latest GameTimeCT.com state media/coaches poll, used seven offensive rebounds in the third quarter to take a 57-40 lead into the fourth. Joey Kasperzyk added 16 for the Academics, including two impressive dunks. It was the second game of the season for Lewis.

Bridgeport Central, the defending CIAC Class LL champions, lost its third in a row to drop to 5-3. Marcus Blackwell led Central with 25 points.
