HS Boys Basketball: Xavier 66, Cheshire 52

Alex White had 23 points and 12 rebounds to lead Xavier High to a 66-52 boys basketball win over Cheshire Dec. 19 in Middletown. It was CPTV Sports first LIVE basketball broadcast of the 2014-15 season (livestream here).

Kaleb Lutton had 10 rebounds for Xavier (2-0), which outrebounded Cheshire, 43-16. It was Cheshire’s season opener. The Rams led 4-0 before Xavier took control with a 20-4 run.

Lutton’s block of Shelton’s overtime extra-point attempt that gave Xavier a 28-27 win in the Class LL-Small football final Dec. 13 was voted CPTV Sports’ UChoose Play of the CIAC championships.
