HS Girls Basketball: Torrington 49, Watertown 43

Sophomore Brie Pergola had 26 points, including 17 of Torrington’s first 19 points, to lead the Raiders to a 49-43 NVL girls basketball win at Watertown Jan. 20. CPTV Sports was there and will show the broadcast premiere Saturday Jan. 24 at 7:00pm.

Pergola had two three-pointers as Torrington (10-1) took a 24-19 halftime lead. Abby Collier had 25 points for Watertown (8-4), which cut the lead to 29-28 before Pergola hit her fourth three to help Torrington take a 34-28 lead into the fourth quarter.

Collier scored 11 in the fourth quarter, including a three that cut the deficit to 36-33. But Torrington was able to close the game out at the free-throw line.
