Gabe Pompette returned an interception 41 yards for a touchdown early in the first quarter and Brookfield High’s defense followed with eight sacks as the Bobcats defeated Berlin 14-0 in the CIAC Class M-Large final Dec. 12 at Veterans Stadium in New Britain. CPTV Sports showed the game LIVE as the first game of our state high school football championship week coverage.

Brookfield’s defense also produced a goal-line stand in the second half, stopping Berlin on four attempts from the Bobcats’ 3-yard line.

Brookfield finished 12-2; Berlin 11-2.
