Rayon Christie, a junior guard on Simsbury High’s boys basketball team, is our eighth UChoose Student-Athlete of the Week of the winter and 18th of the 2014-15 school year!
Rayon scored a career-high 39 points, including shooting 6-for-10 from three-point range, in Simsbury’s 49-42 CCC West win over New Britain. CPTV Sports was there and will show the broadcast premiere Tuesday Feb. 10 at 9:30pm (highlights above). Simsbury is 11-4, 7-3 in the CCC West (tied for second with New Britain).
Congrats to Rayon, who joins Greenwich boys basketball player Conor Harkins, Holy Cross-Waterbury girls basketball player RaShana Siders, Fairfield co-op boys hockey player Jake Fuss, Northwest Catholic boys hockey player Anthony Ceolin, Northwest boys basketball player Christian Thomas, Masuk-Monroe boys basketball player Bryan Acevedo and New Fairfield/Immaculate hockey player Peter Masi as our winter Student-Athletes of the week.
